Here's a simple trick using just a piece of string or thin strip of paper:

Wrap it around the base of your finger, snug but not too tight. 
Mark where the ends meet. 
Lay it flat against a ruler and measure in millimeters. 
That's your finger circumference, use it to find your size  
on our ring size guide.

A few tips to get it right:

Measure at the end of the day, when your fingers are slightly larger.
If your knuckle is wider than the base of your finger, measure
both and go with a size in between.
Measure 2-3 times to make sure.
